Tea with the Flower Fairies Party!!!
My friend's daughter is turning four and I am planning her party and will host it. It will be a tea party with a flower fairies theme. She is inviting 7 little girls and with her daughter it will be a total of 8. Invitations: I bought 8 different flower stems (lilli, rose, tulip, gardenia, iris, sunflower, amaryllis, daffodil)and attached a tag with a ribbon (construction paper cut in the shape of a tag)stating the date of the party, the time and the name of the flower which would be their flower fairy name. I am handing them out this weekend and the birthday girl will of course get one. She will be Fairy Rose. The fairies will be instructed to bring their flower fairy wands with them (the flower stems given to them as an invitation) to the party and to come dressed with tights and leotards in light colors. I have a friend that sews and she is making tutus for the fairies in the colors of the flowers I bought and I am picking up pastel colored fairy wings to match the tutus and will decorate Fairy Rose's wings extra special because she is the birthday fairy. I am also making flower head pieces for the fairies with their special flowers to match. The party will be at my friend's house in her dining room and I am decorating the table in the following way. White lace tablecloth with matching napkins. The napkin rings will be the different flowers chosen in the beginning for the fairies. The centerpiece will be an arrangment I am making in a basket with the different flowers chosen for the fairies. The table will be set with real china in white and we will sprinkle different real flower petals on the table with twigs. The food will be tea sandwiches (peanut butter and jelly and chicken salad) cut into flower shapes with cookie cutters. Petit fours cakes in pastel colors, flower shaped cookies decorated with fairy dust (sugar crystals) all served on trays decorated with theme related flowers. And we will serve pink lemonade as tea. Once the fairies arrive they will receive their wings and tutu's then we will put face glitter on them with glitter lipgloss, then I will take a picture of each of them and then as a group(I will send thank you notes made out of the group picture and include their individual pictures for them to keep), then they will sit at the table by matching their flower wand to the flower on the napkin ring. Once the fairies have eaten their fairy sandwiches they will go into the living room and play musical fairy chairs (chairs set up in a circle decorated with garlands) all of the fairies will be winners and receive fairy cookies as prizes. Then all the fairies will sit at the table to plant their fairy flowers in small flowerpots (corresponding flower seeds and they get to take it home to watch them grow). Once we are done planting the fairies will share a ring dance (play irish music and make a circle with the fairies and they dance going around in the circle while waving their flower wands in the air). Once the fairies are done with the ring dance they will sing happy birthday to the birthday fairy and eat the mini fairy cakes (petit fours). Then the fairies will search for clues to find the box that contains the fairy presents. The clues will be a round the living room and an adult will read them, once they find the presents (flower fairy dolls made according to their pertaining flower, directions on hgtv.com) they will then receive a goody bag as a prize for finding the presents. Goody bag: an organza drawstring bag decorated with corresponding flowers and filled with fairy lipgloss (glitter lipgloss, fairy glitter (face glitter) and fairy nail polish (clear glitter nailpolish). While the fairies wait to be picked up they can color fairy coloring pages from dltk's website with crayola's glitter crayons. All of the fairies get to keep their wings, tutu's and flower crowns. I'm sure it will be a party they remember!!!!!
