A great idea is doing a farm/west theme b-day party.
What will you need to do? Well, all you need is for the decoration bring stacks of firmly stacked hay, put them together to form a table and cover it with a gingham red table cloth, the chairs would be smaller stacks of hays (to form benches). Hang empty milk containers for decoration and instead of making colored paper loops hang wide rope from one to extreme to the other. It would be great if you could serve food and drinks on glasses and plates made out of clay (pottery); As centerpieces you can put a small vase with wild flowers; you can also bring a small horse or just the horse seat so that kids get pictures on it. Instead of party bags give away bags made out of a heavy fabric to resemble those used to pack in rice or corn. Give away farm/west hats and as favors give away sheriff stars. Ask the guests (in the invitation) to dress in blue jeans and gingham shirts (big squares will be fine), and you can also give away red printed necker/handkerchiefs. As invitations print in the computer a "WANTED" notification and add "Guests to attend ______'s birthday party" put all remaining information. Finally try to serve the type of food you would eat at the farm and/or west (corn, steak, for grown ups, pizza for the kids for ex) and if possible bring any live animal (a calf for ex) and improvise a barn with ropes around the area so that the kids can see or feed. Don't forget to get a bottle in case it is a calf!! If you hire a clown don't forget to ask him to dress as a cowboy or farm boy.. o.k.!! We've done this theme party and believe me everybody really enjoys it!!!!!
