I have a birthday idea that was a real hit. A Fear Factor Birthday Party. We started off with: 1st challenge - worms (Gumi worms dipped in honey and rolled in Oreo cookie
crumbs)
2nd challenge - ladies fingers. cookies that looked like fingers(fingernail and all) with cake gel for blood 3rd challenge - cat eyes (green olives wrapped in a cheese and flour mixture) Our finale was an obstacle course that had to be completed with an egg inside a birthday hat worn on top of your head. I told the kids it was a raw egg that I left out for 2 weeks. (really just a plastic egg filled with Playdough) There was a rope to climb under, over, a 2 X 4 to walk across while adults squirted them with water guns. Jumprope three time, them pass through the dodgers. (Pillows hung at the end of ropes and adults swinging them towards the children) A spider web to climb through (String stretched numerous times between two trees) and at the end a bunch of mouse traps (where the operator played sounds of mouse traps going off - because of course they were not set) I told everyone that they won and they get to share the prize money - I threw chocolate gold coins in the air. Then asked them to join us in a special treat. I made a cake that looked like a pig. (3 dimensional - I used a football mold for the body and a baseball mold for the head) I bought a plastic snout, ears, eyes at a party store. The inside of the head had apple comstock filling for the brain. The body had cherry filling for the heart, peach filling for the lungs, and blueberry filling and licorice for intestines. It tasted delicious and the kids loved all the special effects. The adults stayed entertained to watching the children and fearing what I would bring out next. The activities took about an hour and a half. Then with cake and presents, a nice 2 1/2 hour event.
