Mexican Fiesta
We decided to have a fiesta for my little girl. We purchased sombreros for each child invited and a set of maracas. This was their gifts to wear at the party and to take home. We had a fruit tray which is traditional in Mexico. We also did Mexican pizzas with dip and chip. We purchased two piņatas for the children to break filled with goodies. This went over extremely well. We also used the colors of Mexico, red, white and green for the streamers and table center piece. The cups and plates were purchased at a local party store that had the fiesta theme on them. Jalapeno pepper candles were used on the cake and the cake was decorated in Mexican colors. We had copied the Mexican flag from the computer and glued them on small skewers that was at each child's place setting, these were for taking home as well. A large sign at the end of the drive way was in Spanish that said welcome friends and decorated with Mexican things. Each child's place at the table had their Spanish name instead of their English name. We wanted to make this a fun party and educational as well. It was a great idea and went over extremely well. The parents of each child complimented several times how original this was and educational.
