For our son's 3rd birthday party, he wants a Finding Nemo Theme. We've bought the plates, cups, napkins, one tablecloth, invitations and party bags at wal-mart, the reason we bought the
invites and party bags is because we are going to do some pretty elaborate decorations and to save time and money we chose store bought on those two items. We are having the party outside
under our carport. At the entrance of the car-port we're going to have a palm tree setting on each side, then across the front of the carport we're going to have turqoise and aqua colored
streamers hanging down, on the carport floor we're going to lay brown craft paper for sand and have seashell cutouts glued all around. We're going to have jellyfish hanging from the
ceiling(either made with coffee filters and plastic cups or made out of balloons and tissue wrapping paper. Also hanging from the ceiling will be cardboard cutouts of Nemo, Dory, Marlin, the
sharks and a few of the other characters from the movie. We'll have blue and clear balloons hanging all around as well to look like bubbles. We are looking into a bubble machine to add extra
effect. The gift table will be covered in a blue gossamer to look like water, we are considering making a large cardboard ship cutout and placing all the gifts in the "ship" on the
table. The food table will be covered in either a Nemo tablecloth or craft paper and for food we're going to have goldfish cracker in a bowl, jello aquariums, pizza, my mother in law is
making a Nemo cake and for drinks for the kids will have blue koolaid with gummy sharks frozen in the ice cubes, for the parents we'll have bottled water or soda. We are going to fill a kiddy
pool with sand and let the kids hunt for treasure: gummy fish, little chocolate pieces, some suckers. The kids will also be able to "fish" in the ocean (a large box covered in blue
gossamer and little sea creature cut outs) using a dowel rod with a fishing line attached to it and a magnet to pick up little fish magnets that we'll make using clay, paint and a little
magnet attached to the back. Then the kids can play a pin Nemo at his home game, where they pin a cutout of Nemo to his anemone. After the games, we'll let our son open his presents, then
everyone can eat and after we eat the cake, we'll hand out favor bags with Nemo Stickers, Bubbles, the candy they found, the "fish" they caught and some play dough. Then pictures
will be taken of the kids standing behind a shark cut-out as though they are in the sharks mouth. We'll then print them from the camera and place them in frames painted with turquoise paint,
with a starfish in one corner, bubbles down one side and fish made of clay glued to the bottom right corner.
