Nemo Birthday Party for my 4 year old grandson. My husband, son, daughter-in-law and myself created a Seascape Adventureland.
The original Nemo invitations, napkins, plates, cups, birthday banner, party hats, party whistles & giftbags (included nemo temp. tattoos and goodies)from The Party Pig. Designed a 12ft. x 12ft sandbox area and set large plastic pails, shovels, and sand molds all throughtout. Adjacent to the sand box area was the Playskool playground, slides, tunnels, etc. Seashells were scattered throughtout the sanpit. A petting zoo was hired for 1 hour to entertain the children by allowing the children into an enclosed pen to pet a miniture horse, rabbit, ducks & piglet. Hand painted a 4 ft. x 8 ft. mural of the pixar poster for the Finding Nemo movie, the one with Bruce the Shark and Nemo under his dads fin, which was then set as a drop for the fishing game, a bamboo stick with a line and clothespin was used a a fishing rod which was then given to each child to throw over the mural, gifts in large brown paper bags which were already labled with girl or boy and age group where attached to clothespin by mommy who was seated behind the mural and thrown back to the child. Four 6 ft. tables were decorated with vibrant ocean blue colored table covers for the guests and a Nemo themed tablecover for the cake and gift table. Aquatic designed umbrellas and sea creature (seashells, seahorses, fishes) tablecover weights purchased at Big Lots were used. A large fish pinata (same colors as Nemo) which we embellished by molding a party hat with tassels on the top of the head, filled with colorful confetti and goodies was raised and lowered from a large tree branch by Dad for the children to take turns in attempting to break the Pinata. Another pinata, which was star shaped and multi-colored was also enhanced by us cutting out fish scenes from wall paper and gluing throughout the pinata, this was hung over the gift table. Multi-colored Plastic fish shaped bowls were used to serve chips and one was set on each table. A glass shaped fish was set on the table designating where the Bithday Boy was to be seated. Fish designed Party Bags were used with sand inside to hold helium balloons, and set around pary area. On an enclosed area of our yard we set up a waterscape, a large hard plastic pool with slide and placed water squirting fish in the pool, a water wiggle octupus(arms wiggled all around while spraying water, and filled an old marble bathtub with pre-filled waterballoons. Plush fish toys were suspended in air off tree branches with fishing line over the waterscape area. Towels were set on a small sized wooden bench, in case, someone forgot to bring theirs. A very long wooden handrail, approx. 50 ft. long was used for the children to follow which lead them to the party. Fishing nets with seashells glued were hung off the railing. Gift bags were issued to each child as they left the party, the gift bags included Nemo Temporary Tattoos, candies, nemo printed whistles, water squirters, beach balls or water goggles and miniature plastic fish and multi-colored gummi fish. Food and drinks served: Hot dogs (set in plastic hot dog holders with fish stickers applied to outside of holders), Nachos with cheese, Frito Pies (ingredients similar to hot dogs, e.g. chili, pickles, onions, cheese), Popsicles - handed out throughout the party due to hot Texas days in June, and chilled fruit punch. Mom & Dad wore colorful fish pins, so the children would know who to ask for help. The birthday boy wore a Finding Nemo outfit and was given a Nemo towel (hooded bath towel) from the Disney Store. Invitations stated "bring a swimsuit & towel". A bubble machine was hung from a tree and our Nemo cake was made by qa very close friend with a design like our invitation saying "Finding Nemo".
