FireFighters Party Theme:  For my sons 6th birthday party we had a firefighting party.  I called our local volunteer fire department and they joyfully agreed to come and put on a show for the kids.  And boy did they put on a show, they brought 4 fire trucks, 25 thousand + pounds of water, they brought a fire safety coloring book, & red fireman's hats for all 23 children, they then showed the kids how they got dressed, hooked up and sprayed the hoses, shot off the big water cannons off the big truck, and then the kids all got to get wet when they ran through the mist of and spray of the water cannons.  Then they all got to learn how to work the hoses themselves.  Then it was time to get dried off in front of the big dryers that they had brought and then two at a time the kids got to go for a ride in one of two of the trucks.  Then it was time for a big group picture with the fireman in front of the big truck,(which I sent in each of their thankyous after the party)All in all the fireman were there for about and hour and a half to two hours.  Then we did a firetruck pinata, and then we played "put out the fire" which was really a cardboard house that my husband made with red cellophane paper in the windows to make it look like it was on fire, then each child took turns trying to throw water balloons through the cut out windows. (They loved this game)We completed the party by having a firetruck ice cream cake.  This party was so much fun, I would encourage anyone thinking of having a firefighting party to call your local fire department.  Ours did such a fantastic job and they loved it too.
