Police Academy Party All decorations were around the police theme. We had black table cloths with blue placemats. We used many of the 4th of July type decorations (red, white & blue..flags
etc.) We had balloons with this theme, star confetti for the tables, and star napkins etc. This was a pre-school party Ages 2-7. My sons love the police!
The children were "booked" as part of there initiation. This also kept them busy as everyone arrived. We made up little booklets that could be used later for identification purposes. We had four stations set up. One took the general information, such as their name, address, age, city, state, birthdate, hair color, eye color, identifying marks. The second was our "line up". We had a piece of bulletin board paper taped to the front of our downstairs freezer with all the markings on it like a real "line up." We took their pictures in front of it with a Polaroid camera. We then weighed them in. We got their height while in the "line up". The 3rd station was for finger prints. We used the washable ink pads and had wipes ready for clean up. The "BOOKS" were ready to be picked up at the final station. We made a "jail" by using a folding ping pong table and setting it on it's side. We used crepe paper and hung it from a sheet of plywood that we put over the top of the table for a roof. The crepe paper hung down to make "bars." The little boys loved it! They even put their plastic bugs inside for special effects. Officer friendly came and gave us a talk about "stranger danger." He had the real ID books for the Mom's and coloring books and badges for the kids. He even let them see inside his police car! We had them do calisthenics just like in a real academy. We also had "evidence" relays where they had to take items from one location to another in gloves..that were, of course, too big for them. We also played "London Bridges" and when we "took the keys and locked them up" we put them in the jail. All the games, decorations, prizes and the cake, all had the Police theme. They had great fun. We even had a special area for Senior Officers (parents) so that they would be close but not in the way! They had fun chatting! Next year we will have either a GI Joe birthday or NASCAR theme. I will make it all work together! Enjoy!!!
