This year my son will turn 2(in June). I am going to have a FISH party. I made the invitations on the computer. I put a picture of my son on it and said "Swim on Over".
I put fish pictures on the envelopes. For food we will have FISH sticks and french fries. For snacks we will have GOLDFISH crackers. I am going to set up wading pools...one with real live fish in it for the children to take home as a party favor. The children will be given a net to actually "fish" for their fish! We are going to have a "fish for treats" game. I put a string on a stick and set up a board. My husband will sit behind the board to let the children "fish" for their treats. I will also have fish stamps and paper for them to do fish art. THE CAKE---Make 2 8 inch round cakes and stack them together. Frost with dark blue icing. cut a squiggly line on the top layer to make look like a hole that will eventually be filled with water. The water is blue Jell-O...made really thick by using ice. Use a Twinkie for the "boat" along with a pretzel stick and a fruit role up as the sail. Put assorted gummy worms, teddy grams, and gold fish on the cake to give an friendly ocean look.(the teddy grams and fish can be decorated with icing for clothes and a black dot for eyes. It takes time, but it is cute! For party favors....blue sacks cut at the top to have a 'wavy' appearance...filled with sunglasses, goldfish snack crackers, and gummy worms. and of course(the pet fish in a small glass bowl" The children will be able to splash in the pools for fun since it will be so hot!
