For my sons party we decided to have a fish party. The invitations read "There's something fishy going on please join us for a Birthday celebration for ________" to proceed with the
party specifics, date, time, ect.We had a layered store bought cake decorated with a fish theme fishes, starfish, octopuses, seahorses. I also made some "aquariums" for the children
to take home.(this is simply blue jello in a small clear plastic cup with a gummy fish incerted in the middle). I also made fish shaped cookies for the children. I just used a fish shapped
cookie cutter and bought small wooden dows (craft dept. at Wal-Mart). I attached the wooden dow to small piece of string and the other end of the string to the cookie with white chocolate.
The children loved it. The children enjoyed drinking blue punch, and there was tea for the adults. The basic hotdogs and hamburgers was served. Plenty of chips and goldfish of course. I
decorated with tons of balloons all different shades of blue. On the tables were blue table cloths and a plastic fish certerpiece bought from the Dollar store. I bought a large fishing net at
the local sports store(about $10) and cut it into smaller pieces the net is huge. The net was then drapped over the fishes on the tables. I found fish plates and shell punch bowl at the
dollar store. I rented a large fish costume from a local costume shop and my husband "enjoyed" taking pictures with the children. (these pictures were later sent with the thank you
cards). For the goodie bags I purchased clear treat bags from Wal-mart, and attached foam fishes(wal-mart) with scapbooking pop up's. (I initally tried hot glue, but they did not stick to the
bags). Inside was of couse many little fish goodies purchased from Oriential Trading, along with gold fish, gimmy fish, ect. I also was fortunate to find someone on e-bay who made tiny
plastic bags filled with glycerin soap and a small plastic fish in the center. So every child got to pick out a fish to take home. The children loved it. On the thank you cards I put
"Thanks for making my party such a SPLASH" and included a picture of the child with the "fish".
