My daughter is special needs but I do a theme party for her every year. For her 3 rd birthday in November I wanted to make it really special. So I hand made a teddy bear cake (home
made cake and then I cut the shape out by hand), I used light and dark brown icing and used the light brown for the tummy and the dark for the body.
Then I used half a Reece chocolate bar for the ears (per side), white jelly beans with a black dot in the middle (black - Betty crocker icing Gel writers). For the mouth I used the black icing writer gel. For the nose I used a pink ju-jube. I even used the black gel icing and made the claws. I made a poster of a teddy bear face and did Pin the nose on the Bear". My invitations were a smaller version of the poster (Teddy Bear face). Then I hand made even smaller bear faces in browns and pinks and hung then on fish line as decorations al over. I used pink table cloths from the Dollar Store and then I made homemade "Teddy Bear cookies" then I put them in a sandwhich bagto hold them tight I taped the bag at the back. On the front of the bag I glued a little pink bow where the neck was visible on the teddy bear cookie. Then for the loot bags I used brown paper lunch bags and printed the smaller teddy bear faces out and put one on each bag. I then wrote "Teddy Bear Loot Bag" on them. It was a huge hit and the kids had a blast."
