The lady that was caring for my daughter at the time would take her to her daughter's gymnastics and cheer facility in the afternoon.
She loved playing at the gym, so for her second birthday, I decided to do a Tumbling Toddlers Party. She was also in love with Elmo at the time, and I purchased Elmo decorations, favors and stationary. On the invitation I wrote the following poem: It's Jacqueline's 2nd birthday Let's give out a cheer! Can you really believe it's been a whole year? We'll have some rumbling tumbling fun, With gymnastics, a trampoline, & games for everyone! Parents send the release form back to me, And that will be your RSVP. As the guest as they arrived, the gym owner and a couple of her gymnasts directed the kids to the gym area which had an obstacle course set up. We had kids there that ranged in age from one to thirteen, so there was something for everyone. They had an hour of play time which allowed time to navigate the course, as well as play on all of the equipment in the gym. After play time, we all went to the party room. Each child had a place setting with an Elmo activity mat, which kept them busy until they were served hot dogs for lunch. The cake was Elmo. While we opened gifts, the older kids went back to the gym area to play with some of the restless little ones. We gave goody boxes filled with Elmo stickers, colors, ball, rubber ducky and candy. For the older kids, we gave glamour and Tony Hawk goody boxes. The gym added a free gym session to each box, and gave a gym t-shirt to my daughter. This was very fun for the kids and hassle free for me.
