Since our party last year was a HUGE hit, we are trying it again this year.  Our sons birthday falls in the middle of October so most kids have their costumes already picked out, and enjoy getting to wear them more than once.  We invited his entire classroom and soccer team (total 35 kids) and ALL of them showed up! We started with homemade invitations with Blood Font and spider stamps. The invitations stated that if they RSVP by a certain date then they would have a personalized" tombstone made for them and put in the "graveyard". Needless to say that I had to make 35 of these-haha I took assorted sized boxes and cut them into squares. I then rounded off the sides of the top with scissors. I used grey spray paint to paint the fronts and some black spray paint to give some added "oldness". I then used a sharpie to write the epitaphs using the childrens names and trying to rhyme them.  (Ex. "Here lies Scott died of Foot Rot" "Here lies Mike fell off his bike"). We used bamboo skewers and taped them to the back of the tombstone and stuck them in our graveyard. The graveyard was fun to make. We poured some black mulch in a front area of the yard and used a little picket fence from walmart to surround it. Our neighbor had cut down some branches of a tree so I took those and painted them black and stuck them in the mulch and draped purple lights on it. We also used tiki torches throuout the yard and a fogger for a cool effect. My mother-n-law got us some 100 gal black trash bags to use for out "haunted house" which was located in our garage. We cut the trash bags lengthwise and hung them from the ceiling to the floor using push pins. We made a zig-zag winding path throughout the garage.  We hung black lights and motion sensored scary decorations that screamed and booed when the children walked through.  We also used our teenaged brothers to hide inside and scare the guests. There was a radio with Halloween sounds playing too. One of the moms was so scared she ripped down some of the trash bags!! but it was easy to repair. The kids had so much fun we almost couldnt get them out!! FOOD- put 2 large marshmellows on a pretzel stick and wrap it with fruit by the foot to make a mummy roll in sugar so they dont stick to each other.  Chocolate gremlins are melted chocolate and butterscotch mixed with chow mien noodles and dropped on wax paper to cool.  Use small orange or yellow M&M's for the eyes.  Mummy toes are small coctail weenies wrapped in croissant dough baked and ketchup is used as the toenail.  Mummy dogs are hot dogs wrapped in croissant dough to look like a mummy and baked then add ketchup and mustard "eyes"-BIG HIT!!  Will do more of them this year.  Punch- put some fruit juice in small glass containers and add some gummy worms and freeze.  Right before the guest show up mix grape and red soda and add the frozen gummy worm coctails. Another punch is sherbert and orange soda with gummy worms in it. GAMES- instead of bobbing for apples use marshmellows and straws instead.  Have 3-4 children try to suck up as many marshmellow as they can at a time. The winner gets some candy.  We also took 3 large cardboard box sides and wrapped it in spider web and tacked it to the fence outside. We had three teams of 10 kids and they each had different color plastic spiders (orange purple and black)  The teams had to stand so far back and throw the spiders onto their webThe team that had the most stick won some candy. We also had a halloween costume contest that included the parents too. Walmart has some cute party gift ideas for the contests too. At the end of the party we had ech child take their "tombstone home and gave them a gift bag.  "
