We had a Hallowen costume party and it was so much fun. All of our friends and family came dressed up and it was pretty funny to see what everyone came up with. I focused mostly on the kids
having fun but I know the adults had fun. As guests arrived my house was practically pitch black besides the garage. We decorated with some strings of dark purple lights outside on the trees.
The garage is attached so you can enter that way to the house. There was a hidden radio playing creepy noises and a bat with green eyes that lit up and it was flying from the ceiling. A big
black light was hung up near the door and I had some bones laid around with glow in dark paint on them. The scary thing was the darkness and music because I didn't even want to go down there.
A picnic table was placed in the middle so the kids could decorate pumpkins later in the evening with all kinds of craft goodies I purchased from craft store. We live in the woods so at night
it is pitch black. We made a fire out back and put hay stacks around for people to sit on. We also had a radio playing scary music hidden in the woods. I had a costume contest for adults and
children. The kids stayed busy playing games. One game was trying to pop black balloons filled with candy and spider rings by sitting on them. That was cute to watch. Another game was to
place a paper plate on top of your head and try to draw a pumpkin. We also played pin the nose on the pumpkin. The kids were blindfolded and we would spin them around and they would have to
try to put the nose on. I just drew a big pumpkin on poster board and made individual noses and put tape on the back. The kids also decorated their pumpkins to take home. We had a scary hike
through the woods for the kids after they were done. We had them change clothes and there is a path in the woods. We hung glow sticks here and there from trees and that gave off like an eery
glow. Two people had flashlights and as we walked we told them a scary story (not too scary for young ones). All the kids were holding hands and we had someone jump out with a scary wolf mask
on. As an adult it is scary even for me in the woods at night. The radio was still playing in a distance. After that the kids sat in a circle and we told ghost stories and at the end when you
want to try to make someone jump we sprayed silly string all over them. In one of our bathrooms I unscrewed some of the lightbulbs so only about 2 would come on above our mirror so it was
kind of dark. I hung long pieces of thread from the ceiling to act as a piece of a spider's web. It would drag across people's faces. I made many candle holders out of baby jars. I tied
orange and black ribbon around top and hot glued a small halloween wood shape already painted from craft store. I used black and orange votive candles. I made bats out of black foam and hung
them from ceiling. Everyone was asked to bring a side dish. We had dirt pudding and it was in a halloween bucket with gummy worms and a skeleton hand was in middle. I made witch hat cookies,
rice crispie treats with candy corn and pumpkins made out of icing. There was some basic food dishes like sloppy joes and baked beans. My favorite thing I made was black cat lollipops made
out of small peppermint patties, chocolate chips for ears. Two orange tic tacs for eyes. The nose was a chocolate chip with orange icing for mouth. Everyone thought they were very cute. I
also made sugar cookie shapes and decorated them. I made red punch and put in floating eyeballs. We also raosted marshmallows outside. I purchased some neat skeletons from the Dollar Tree and
hung them around on doors. I made a sign that said enter if you dare before you came up the steps.I also decorated with black and orange streamers. I had carved pumpkins lit up outside going
up our side walk and driveway. We have lights throughout our garden in the front of our house. I bought cheap white material and used a permanent black marker to put two black eyes and a
mouth on it to make it look like a ghost. I put them over the lights and tied them. It looked like little individual ghosts lit up. The kids went home with their pumpkin and a big bag of
candy. The adults got to take home one of the candle holder's I made.
