For my 6 & 7 year olds Halloween party, we decorated the garage with an outdoor graveyard scene.I bought 25 yards regular muslin from joann fabric and dyed it black $14.00. I hung it from
the open garage door and tied back to look like curtains. We covered the garage floor with green ripped netting from the party store. The grave yard scene had bones, rats, spiders, tombstones,
fogger, lots of webbing, it was awesome!Half way up we covered the walls with plastic, a scene of woods from party city.We only went half way because the white walls on the top worked well
with the red lights. It didnt make it so dark in there either. The most important was the plastic wrought iron looking gates, this kept the kids out of the grave yard area and just let them
look at everything. on the other side we had a 7 foot mummy purchased at walmart floor model $25.00 with some scary creatures we made hanging from the ceiling. Buy $3.00 masks from walmart
and just drape material. very easy. The key to all of this is replace your garage lights with large RED lights much more effective than black lights!!! Each child got a halloween raffle
ticket when they came in and also a scavenger hunt card. There were 10 items that were hidden throught out the night that the kids had to find.A lost treasure key,a rat tail, a bat wing,a
severed finger, a rat brain,a blood worm, a vampire tooth,
and a torn ear. All cheap items at the partycity. Items were hidden throughout the night and kids were to find them. Prizes were a bag of candy. We also had prizes for Best costume, Funniest costume, and scariest costume. I decorated boxes and kids got to vote. Prizes were award ribbons and a trophy(purchased at partycity for cheap). The party is 2 hours from 6:30-8:30 kids come in costume. we rented a Halloween bouncer but you really dont need to. that was a cost we really didnt need. But for games we played a game I made up, we bought 2 a paper/cardboard skeletons at partycity, the ones that you hang on wall and the legs and arms are moveable. They were $6.00. each. I formed two teams the name of the game was Put the skeleton back together". It is similar to pin the witch. Tack the skeletons on the wall near eachother blindfolded to try and put on the arms and legs. Which ever teams skeleton is completed with the legs and arms in the right place wins. This is very fun. You can even take the skeletons head off and use that as well. Great game for a total of $12.00! We also played bean bag toss where we carved out 3 pumpkins and the kids had to toss the bean bags into the carved out pumpkin or a pumpkin bucket. You can make this harder by blinfolding them as well if you like. Another game that is fun is "Guess who I am" Turn out the lights and pick one child to hide behind a black sheet.Give this child a piece of paper with clue words they cannot use! They need to give the kids sitting on the floor clues to who they are.For example if the child is a witch clue words not to be used are fly broom hat . So the child would have to give clues like "I have a big wart on my nose or I like to make spells" and the kids would guess the she is Witch and so on. If you have another witch give her the words spell wart that she cant us. its a fun game. It has alot of possibilties. works better with a larger group so they dont recognize so easily who missing from the group. For the food we had pizza and cake plus snackswe put out fruit punch for the kids with dry ice so it foggedgreat effect. I put out cookies and coffee for the parents. I made a large choc sheet cake with choc icing and put a skull head in the middle with a small sized grave yard scene. Little rats spiders bats flying (on wire) tombstones (buy online) and white cottoncandy works well as webbing. use your imagination ....its a great fun time!Definatley a party they will not forget!oh and since there were 50 kids invited I made all my invitations for $2.98. We bought a packet of black construction paper 50 count for $1.99 cut the sheets intocard size and then bought a 100 sheet pad of note paper with a halloween bat on it and graveyard scene from AC MOORE for .97cents. We tore off each sheet put it through the printer and printed all the party details on theblank area where you would normally write a note. You could probably use sticky note pads also. Just find a print you like with a blank clear note area. Then the kids used stick glue and glued them on the black construction paper.Get the thicker black paper Holds up better. They went to school and handed them out the parents all commented on how cute they were(and easy). And the kids were able to help make them as well. We played Halloween music effect outside where the jumper was located with a strobe light and inside the garage area we played regualr music such as Ghostbusters and the Addams family the kids loved it!
