A Halloween Pumpkin Bash: My 4 year old son & 3 year old son wanted to have a Halloween party. So we picked the pumpkin bash theme and made invitations in pumpkin shapes, changed the words to the song "Monster Mash" to " Pumpkin Bash" added some webbing on the pumpkin's put them in envelopes (orange) stamped some scary stuff on the outside and inside included Halloween stickers, confetti & pumpkin erasers along with a little treat! We are asking everyone (including parents) to come dressed up. Decorations: I want to make it not so scary for all the little guys (about 30 of them, ages 1-11yrs, so I am going to set up a pumpkin patch, with bundles of straw set up, scarecrows for the kids to take pictures with, pumpkins (real & fake) all over the place, spiders on the straw, a sign that says the pumpkin patch, enter if you dare, spiders hanging from the tarp, with orange lights around it. I am also fencing off a cemetery with fake graves and lights, with webs and rats. I have made homemade signs to place all over with webs, spiders, ants, rats, etc. In the bathroom I am hanging bats & spiders from the ceiling and in the tub placing a skeleton with bloody water and candles. In the other bathroom I have all glow in the dark bugs, spiders, rats, etc.. This one will have the black light. The other will have a regular light for the little guys. I will have jars with scary stuff set up for the kids to look at. Hallow out pumpkins and serve food in them, and also display flowers in them. In my TV room I have a mini fall scene set up with mini bundles of straw, scarecrows, fall leaves, flowers, spiders and corn (fake). I am putting webs on the tables, along with bugs & confetti, black & orange balloons & lots of candles and changing all of my lights to purple & black. Pumpkin will be all over (real & fake)My entire house will be covered with orange & purple lights, my front yard has lawn signs all over and scary sounds. Games & activities: The kids are going to go into the pumpkin patch and pick a pumpkin to decorate. We are then all going to vote the most creative, silliest, cutest & scariest. We are going to have a dance contest, pumpkin search, pumpkin toss, make Halloween pasta necklaces and make masks. oh and hay rides in the kids wagons. Food: Juice boxes will be served out of a wheel barrel with dried ice, I will also have a green punch with dried ice & bugs frozen in ice floating in it as well as a frozen hand. Gummy worms, candy, chicken fingers (witches fingers), cheese & crackers, fruit kabobs, graveyard cake, dirt surprise, shaped sandwiches, Halloween cookies, caramel apples, chips & dips, olives & pickles, etc.. Favors: Homemade scarecrow bags (family fun) filled with Halloween necklace, candy, flashlight & Halloween glasses. Throughout the party there will be a lot of Halloween music playing and lots of laughs and screams (I hope) Good luck!
