Glow in the Dark Party

Cool Glow In the Dark Party!! I just recently had a cool glow in the dark party for my eleven year old daughter. This is a hard age to find a theme for and I thought the kids would all really think this was neat. I was right. The kids loved it! To start, I made her invitations on my computer, they had a night scene with stars on them. After we printed them, we painted the biggest star with glow in the dark fabric paint. I also made a happy birthday poster on black poster board with the same paints. I got them a Wal-Mart in the craft section for about .99 cents a bottle. They had 3 different colors. At the party the girls used it to make their own little signs on black poster board that I cut into pieces. For party decorations, I purchased several different items. I bought some small black lights at Wal Mart for about $4.00 each. I found some cool tubing in orange, purple and green that was black light sensitive at the Dollar Tree. We made shapes and spelled out the word Cool to hang on the wall. Also at the Dollar Tree, I purchased several packs of glow stars which I scattered all over the walls. I ordered several mini glow sticks and some chemical glow decorations off the internet. Numerous sites sell chemical glow products. I purchased chemical glow bracelets and beach balls with glow stars on them at the Dollar Tree for party favors. You can find oodles of neat things that glow, especially around this time of year. For the cake, I frosted it in white and put purple sparkles(Wilton) on it and stuck several glow stars in the cake. It was pretty cool with the black lights. I used mostly white plates, napkins, etc. for the food because some whites glow under black light. I did find some green Solo cups that glow under black light. I didn't know that when I bought them, it was a neat surprise. I had a blast finding things for this party and it was a big success for my daughter and all her friends. The girls were much more relaxed about dancing with the lights off, it was funny to see the action slow when we turned the lights on. The chemical glow bracelets allowed us to see how active they were in the dark. Anyway, it was definitely one of my favorite parties yet and the cost wasn't too outrageous either. I found some good deals by starting several weeks before the party. Hope you have as much luck as I did!!!
