For my 9th birthday we had a 'Harry Potter' party. It was GREAT! Everyone had a blast! /\*Invitations/\* For my invitations I bought some scroll paper at the dollar store and wrote 'You have
been accepted to come to Katie's 9th birthday party.'Then it described my party and what to wear (everyone had to wear witch's robes,) then we rolled up the scrolls put a feather on them and
sealed them with dripping wax off of candles. /\*Decorations/\* For decorations upstairs we had red and yellow (the Griffindor colors) balloons hanging from the ceiling, we also had candles
lit everywhere and Harry Potter plates, cutlery, napkins, and a starry navy blue table cloth. My room had a picture of the fat lady on it that you had to say the pass word if you wanted to
get in (we used my room in the treasure hunt!) Downstairs there was different decorations for potions class (mostly black stuff~black balloons, black tablecloth, spider webs...fake of
course...) Care of magical creatures had beany babies around the whole room!/\* The Party/\* The party was great, Hagrid (my brother) went outside and greeted the guests and helped them
inside, then when they got in my house we handed out pencils with feathers on the end and gave them to them and we did a word search. After they had to guess how many 'bertie botts every
flavour beans were in a container' and whoever guessed closest wins! Then we got sorted by the sorting hat (we hit a baby moniter behind the couch they were sitting on and wrote up funny
phrases for the sorting hat to say!) Then we had supper with pizza and 'butter beer' (root beer), and other funny drinks. The cake was shaped like Hedgewig (Harry's pet owl,) we got a
proffesional cake decorater to do it. Then I opened my presents. After supper it was potions class with Snape (my dad,) we did funny tricks I learned from a magic book and used ingredients
such as 'dragon's blood and frogs eye's, (red food coloring and olives!) We used caldrons to make our potions (bought at dollar store, since I had my birthday on October 21st, it was great
because there was tons of halloween stuff out!) After it was care of magical creatures where we watched a clip from the video and picked a beanie baby that we had to describe and tell about.
Then we had a treasure hunt, which at the end was 'the bank' which had knuts (wizard money, a.k.a chocolate coins) in it, which each girl got a little caldron of. Next was flying lessons, (an
obsticle course we did on brooms,) it was extremely funny, my friend Kristina ended up having the best time. At the end of the party, we all went outside and lit up sparklers and had a great
time dancing around with them in the moonlight. At around 10:30, everyone's parents came and picked them up. /\*Treatbags/\* The treatbags contained knuts (golden coins that was supposed to
be wizard money,) a little bag containing about 10 bertie botts in different flavors, a feathered pencil (that said 'flourish and blotts' on it,) and cute bookmarks that we printed off the
harry potter website and had laminated. It was truly a magical birthday party, the Best Birthday Party EVER!:)
