Harry Potter Party age 8-10 PART I-Diagon Alley Copy invitations from h.p. book with we await your owl as r.s.v.p. Term begins party date. Enclose list of stuff they need.Tie the invitations to stuffed owls and personally deliver them to thier door. Have the front yard be diagon alley with the mail box as platforn 9 3/4. It can put signs up next to it saying platforms 9 and 10. We have this fort thingy we can use as gringotts but you probably don't so just use a garage or shed. If you don't have any of those to bad. Think of how to make a temporary fort or something. At gringotts somehow seperate your fort or garage or whatever into different rooms. This can be done with old sheets. Hang them from the ceiling. Put fake money and chocolate coins in them. These spaces will be vaults. Give them a number. Now go get wands. Use really really skinny wooden dowels or buy fake h.p. or magician wands from somewhere. Give them each one but let them keep the coins. Ollivander's can be made by cardboard boxes piles up or a better thing to do is get a huge piece of posterboard or something and write Ollivanders on it and prop it up against the outside wall of the house. Do the same for the cauldron shop if you can find plastic cauldrons. Same for the book shop. J.K. Rowling wrote Quidditch Through the Ages and Fantastic Beasts and Where to find them. They are availibble at most bookstores and some come together. Get the ones that come in a box together and give them to each guest if you don't think it's to expensive for a party favor. PART II- in the house Our kitchen is the great hall. For sorting they will take a quiz and I will sort them durinmg supper. We will have all kinds of things for dinner and my mom will make mint chocolate chip brownies because it's a tradition for my birthday. If my mom will let me this will be a sleepover party. But first we have lessons. On the kitchen ceiling I know it would be hard to hang a black sheet with stars from it so we'll just hand paper fake pumpkins from it instead. We'll eat on the floor and my mom and dad will sit at the table and we'll call it the head table. POTIONS: Like a couple of years ago we'll put out juice for people to mixs and call it stuff like bat blood. HISTORY OF MAGIC: We'll read A brief history of muggle awarness of beasts or whatever that chapter is called from Fantastic BEasts And WHere to find them (From now on I'll refer to it as FBAWTFT) and have a quiz on it.HERBOLOGY: We will plant bulbs. Dinner should be at five so you have time for all this stuff I'm going to tell about. Or maybe six. WE will ather in the hall because this has lots of books and pretend it's the library. We have exactly 12 harry potter things you could use overnight plus the movies and computer game and we have 12 girls at most but if someone can't come I will invite another girl I know and if another person can't her sister. We will then set up our sleeping bags in our house area and play our games and read if we want to then go to sleep. PART III-morning We will have french toast for breakfast and play 'Quidditch'. This will be outside. My mom and dad will toss a tennis ball around and the seekers will try and catch it to win 150 points and end the game. They will also take a quiz to find thier position for quidittch. Chasers play basketball and Keepers are defenders. Beaters go around holding balls and touching people with them and if you're hit you have to freeze for 10 seconds. We will play as many matches as possible untril thier parents pick them up.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      ADDITIONAL IDEAS ---- Our mailbox is in our front driveway and the girl's parents will drop them off there. It will be Platform 9 3/4. There will be a big sign saying King's Cross. Near that we will have a table set up near the fence. It will be under a tree so we will drape a sheet or blanket over the tree branches so it will look like a room. It will be labled The Leaky Cauldron. The invitations will be like Harry's letter to Hogwarts except it will say to bring a broom for Quidditch because now that they are second years they might be picked for thier house teams. They will be second years because a couple years ago I had an H.P. party too. It will include a vault key. At Gringotts which is our fort thingy they will get fake money I am making. I will get the instructions from The Book of Wizard Craft. You could use a garage for Gringotts. Also have a candy store in Diagon Alley where they can get thier candy. The candy for my party will be chocolate frogs (I found them at the store), Bertie Botts Beans, Droobles Best Blowing gum (gum), and lemon drops. At the cauldron shop give them plastic cauldrons. I will also give them apotecary carry-alls, Fingerless gloves, and magic amulets. I found how to make those in the book of wizard craft. The book shop has Quidditch Through the ages (now I will call it QTTA) and Fantastic beasts and where to find them (now I will call it FBAWTFT). J.K. Rowling wrote these books and they are availible at most bookstores. Get the paperbacks. Wands will be skinng wooden dowels painted gold, silver and black. Make signs for the shop and then lean a fake building made out of cardboard of posterboard against the outside wall. Then we will go inside. PART II We will take a sorting quiz. I will sort them during dinner. we will tie a walkie talkie to a wizard hat and my dad will sing the sorting song for year 1 and sort them. Mom will read the names in the order of the quizes but dad should be able to see what's going on. Dinner will be pasta and steak and dessert will be brownies with mint frosting and chocolate chips. After sorting they will take a quiz to see which Quidditch postition they are. Then we will have lessons. Dinner should be early. HERBOLOGY: We will plant bulbs and pretend they are mandrakes. POTIONS: IN their cauldrons they will mix juices together and add things like gummy worms and powdered sugar. They will drink them. HISTORY OF MAGIC: We will read the historic part form either QTTA or FBAWTFT. CHARMS: We will take a quiz about charm related things from H.P. Then we will gather in the hall wich will be the library and check out harry potter books and games for the night. Decorations in the kitchen which will be the great hall will be bats and stars hangin from th ceiling and streamers in the house colors. There will be nobody in Slytherin. We will then roll our sleeping bags in the living room and there will be areas each house sleeps in. I made a Fat Lady Portrait for the Gryffindor area. PART THREE In the morning we will play Quidditch all the way through the party we will give house points. The house who gets the most points gets prizes and so does the house that wins the most Quidditch matches. QUIDDITCH: Beaters go around with balloons tagging people. If you're hit you freeze for ten seconds. Chasers try to get the basktball into one of the other team's hanging hoola hoop or basketball net. Keepers are defending. Breakfast will be french toast. WE will play Quidditch until their parents come.
