I am having a birthday party for 12 year olds and the theme is Harry Potter. When everyone arrived we went to Diagon Ally. The shops we had were Olivanders Wands, Madame Malkas Robes, Flourish and Blots, Eylops Owl Emporium, and a School Supply Store. At Olivanders my mum measured us and then gave us wands. I got the wands at http://www.thewandshop.com. For Madame Malkas Robes my grandmother made robes and then used iron on house badges to make the robes look real. I got the badges at www.PLATFORMNINEANDTHREEQUARTERS.com.  At Flourish and Blots I made books similar to the ones listed in the books of HP. At Eylops Owl Emporium everyone could get a stuffed owl, cat, toad, or a rat. At the School Supply Store everyone was given a cauldron, quill pens, parchment notebook, and a train ticket. Then Hagrid (my dad) took us to the back porch. At the porch there was a big piece of cloth that looked like a brick wall. We all went through the slits in the cloth. Once we were on the porch we were on the Hogwarts Express. We all sat and chatted excitedly until my mum opened the sliding doors to Hogwarts (my house). Professor McGonagall (my mum) welcomed us with the welcoming speech from the book. Then everyone was brought into the great hall. Professor McGonagall read our names and we went up to a small stole in the center of the room. The sorting hat was placed on top of the head. The sorting hat had a baby monitor in it so it could call out the houses. No one minded being in Slytherin. Then we had a feast with our houses. After the feast we went upstairs to the common rooms. Each common room had a picture over it so it was similar to the movie. The next morning we hade breakfast in the great hall and got our class schedules. First we went to Care of Magical Creatures.  Hagrid taught us about Norbert the baby dragon. We all got a chance to play with Norbert. (Norbert was a stuffed dragon). History of Magic was next. During this class we wee quizzed on the Harry Potter books. We then hurried off for Defense Against the Dark Arts. There we made spiders disappear. To do this before the party we made Styrofoam spiders and tied floss around them, then painted them black. Since the spiders are light we put the floss through a loop in the ceiling. Then when we went to make the spiders disappear the professor would pull on the string and the spider would float upward. Next was transfigurations. We turned snails into snakes. To do this before the party we made model magic snakes and snails. Then tied floss around them and painted them green and brown. Since the model magic was light we put the floss through a loop in the ceiling. Then when we went to make the snails turn into spiders the professor would pull on one string and the snail would float upward and the snake would drop onto the table. Last was potions. We had lots of fun mixing up ingredients in any order we wanted. Then we all went to our common rooms for a little down time. Then the head of house came and told us we were going on a field trip to Hogsmade. At Hogsmade we all went to Honeydukes candy store. We all got Berrtie Bots Every Flavor Beans, Chocolate Frogs, Droobles Best Blowing Gum, Fizzywizzys (pop rocks), Peppermint balls (candy cane balls), and Mandrake Pops. After that it was time for every one to leave. For the party bags every one got the candy, robe, wand, and anything else they got at Diagon Ally. This party was great.
