Invitations went out inviting them to join Indiana child's last name" on his Birthday Adventure. While they arrived they found name tags on carabiners with their names in heiroglyphics
attached to the branches of a tree. Along with that was the first clue. Belloq had stolen Indiana's treasure again and he needed their help to get it back! He would share the treasure with
them! This took them to the garage where they played a mummy wrap game (teams of three race to wrap one of their teammates in the entire roll of toilet paper). At the ends of each of the
rolls a piece of a clue falls out. They must put it together to read it. It took them to the Forbidden Forest (the entry hall where green crepe paper or shredded plastic tablecloths hung from
chicken wire). In the forest they found magnifying glasses to use. Around the handles were more pieces of clues to assemble and then de-code the heiroglyphics that sent them to "Pin the
Hat on Indy". At the bottom of the poster was the next clue that was too tiny to read without a magnifying glass. This clue sent them through the snake pit (walk on a 2X4 through a hall
of snakes and get a mini-flashlight on the way). More clues to assemble led them to Spider Cave (made of blankets in a walk-in closet) where spiders guarded pieces of the next clue (this was
their favorite part -- in a dark cave so the bigger the better). They had to cross Crocodile River (blue fabric) on stepping stones (can be felt or wood) while picking up special
"splat" rocks along the way. They used these rocks to fight the bad guys in the market place (drew posters that were put outside of a patio door so the rocks would stick to the
windows). They went outside to the Airport Hangar to fly foam WWII airplanes to get away and then around the house to the "Treasure" -- a pinata made from a mostly-square cardboard
box (with the sides split some to make it breakable) with "Top Secret" and "This End Up" and "Property of Indiana ____" on the sides to look like a packing
crate. Top the Day off with a pyramid-shaped cake juice in little canteens and we had to RUSH to fit it all in an hour and a half! Twelve Second Grade Boys thought this was the BOMB!"
