Bat Party for 6-yr-old Our local Children's Museum had a bat exhibit, so we decided to rent their party room and have an all bat party. We started the theme with the invitations, using bat
clip-art and the headline "Let's Go Batty!" When the guests arrived they were escorted to the party room, then were able to go experience the many hands-on, interactive exhibits the
museum had to offer. Prior to the party I visited the museum with a digital camera, took pictures of ten different items, then created a sheet to hand out to the kids. They could find the
items in the pictures and return the paper for a prize. After about one hour we rounded the kids up, sang happy birthday and ate bat cake. We handed out goody bags which contained a stuffed
bat (I found these adorable stuffed bats at IKEA for less than $2.00 each), candy, a connect-the-dots bat, a bat poem printed on old-looking paper and wrapped up like a scroll. The party was
fun, educational and allowed the kids to wander at their own pace.
