For my daughters 2nd birthday we celebrated with a jungle party theme. I first ordered all of the plates, cups, napkins, table cloth and some balloons from a website online. It was a cute jungle theme with the lion, elephant, monkey, etc. in real bright primary colors. The location of the party was on our deck in the backyard. I decorated the deck with palmetto leaves and moss attached to the pargola, with play rubber snakes hanging and stuffed animal monkeys. I also had a little tiki bar set up with the moss and palmetto leaves with sack material rapped around it. This held the trail mix, and punch. The table was set up under the pargola with all the table settings for the kids. Each place setting had a animal visor for the kids. My daughter had a safari hat that she wore. I also made each kid a safari bag out of kaki material and painted a animal on the front with the saying Jungle Party. Each bag had a coloring book that I hand made from coloring sheets I printed from the internet. The front of the coloring book had an animal that looked like it was standing in grass (which was made from green raffia) and Jungle Party made out of tooth picks that I cut to make the letters. The bag also had binocculars, a play compass ring, animal crackers, and a play canteen. It was so cute because they all looked like they were going on a safari. The cake was very colorful with a lion stretched out with banana trees and alot of greenery. By the front door I had printed claw prints out of different colored construction paper and lamenated them. Placing them coming up the side walk to the door. I bought a piece of wood that looked like a cut piece of tree and painted Natalie' Jungle Party with a giraffe on it. I placed it by the front entrance. I also had other jungle cutouts that I made and placed around the party area. The elephant pinata was a great success with the kids. My daughter had a great time and everyone enjoyed the party. The only problem I had was my daughters birthday is in July and it was very hot outside. This year I will try to have it inside.
