For my son's 5th birthday party, we went to the Jungle. I put a large canapy tent in the room and placed the food tables under it.
I covered one wall with Amazon Print Fabric, to give the Jungle feel. I had drum music playing, a mini pool with water (including fish) in the room. I brought in real rocks for the children to walk on and we used this to play musical rocks. I served animal crackers, bug juice, gummy worms and each child received a pith hat as they entered. We constructed a hut out of cardboard, straw and bamboo and used a grass skirt around the bottom, my son opened all of his presents in this hut, which made great photos. The cake was made to look like a jungle and I bought bug candles (lady bug, bee, catapillar, spider and butterfly. The goodie bag each child received had various animal prizes including bubbles, straws, pencils and erasers. As the children entered the party, we dropped dry ice to give that Jungle effect. Everything was purchased at Wal-mart, with the exception of the bamboo, which I borrowed from a friend. It has been a year and his friends still talk about going to THE JUNGLE
