Jungle Party - My party consisted of kids from 2 till 10 and all were entertained.
I bought foam animal masks from oriental trading places...I wondered if the kids would wear them...and they did...they loved pretending they were make believe animals even the older kids. For the craft we made binoculars out of toilet paper rolls, colored Saran wrap and rubber bands. The kids decorated these with magic markers. My sister-n-law brought over her real ferret for the kids to play with. I bought blown up animal balls from oriental trading place and used these for decorations, a game and gave each child one to take home at the end. I have big parties so I bought 24 of these...and hung some around the house for decorations. I also decorated with stuffed animals and a palm tree. I bought flash lights for each child and told them we were going on a safari. We turned off all the lights in the basement and hid the rest of the animals. The kids had to go in the basement and find the animals with a flashlight. We played this several times...and after we quit...the kids continued to play it...Hugh hit. We also did jungle bingo with animal pictures...so even the young ones could play. Of course there was a piņata. We made a tiger cake (directions in Family fun birthday party book). At the end the kids took home the blown up animals, a water canteen, flashlights and the animal masks. You could also give them safari hats that are sold at oriental trading. We also going to do face painting but the kids liked the masks so much...we didn't need to.
