Knight and Princess Party  First I took construction paper and drew a castle with a flap at the bottom for the draw bridge.  I put string on the sides of the flap and connected it to the castle put the when, where, time on the bridge. I folded the paper into thirds and on the front put "Hear Ye Hear Ye" then on the next page I put "Sir Derek and Princess Abbey request your presence for a Royal Party. Then it opened up to the castle and the bridge.  We had seven girls and six boys.  The princess part was easier than the knight and we had to compensate some stuff for the knight.  I couldn't find any helmets so I took ponchos with hoods and spray painted them silver. I got them at the dollar tree 2 for $1and they where adults so I cut them but they looked really good.  We wrapped a cord around their waist and put a loop on the cord for their sword.  I made a sword and shield out of poster paper and painted silver with a black cross on the shield. I put a little cardboard strip up the back to give the sword a little more support but was trying to keep them from being too dangerous. For the girls I made cone hats out of poster paper and wrapped them with shinny purple wrapping paper from the dollar store and toille coming out the top and flowing down.  I made them skirts out of toille and found wands at the factory card outlet.  All the kids enjoyed dressing up. Next I made "dragon eggs" out of balloons and paper mache. I filled them with chocolate gold coins, necklaces and rings for the girls and coins, rugrats raptor whistles and big bugs that squirted water for the boys. I painted the girls green and the boys blue so I knew what sex was which.. They all loved ripping open the egg to find the treasure inside. I made a dragon out of wrapping paper around a couple of long storage bins, hampers for the neck and tail, mac-n-cheese boxes for the lips and paper cups for the eyes.  I cut out some "fire" out of construction paper and glue it so it looked like he was breathing fire It turned out to be about six feet long.  My husband made a stage prop castle out of strap wood and we painted the front. We own a tavern so we always have the parties up there which gives us lots of room and everyone is all together.  We set up the castle and dragon which looked like he was swimming in the mote and I decorated a chair to look like a throne.  I made frames out of popsicle sticks and string.  G'ma had a polaroid camera so we took everyones picture put it in the frame and had stamps for them to decorate it and take it home. I found a dragon pinata at the factory card outlet and made a castle cake and princess cake out of wilton cake pans.  Wilton makes a cake pan that is a doll where the skirt is the cake and a pick goes in the skirt which is like half a barbie.  I made her a hat like all the girls and it was the hit of the party.  We just had finger food like cookies and chex mix .  G'ma made the party girl, her sister and I all real princess dresses from a pattern I had bought on sale once.  Abbey really like us all looking like twins.  All the kids got to take home their costumes, a picture in a frame, candy from the pinata and all the party favors from the egg. The two hours went by so fast and everyone had a great time. It took me about two weeks straight to get everything done but it was worth it. My children are step brother and sister and they are six weeks apart. So we had children from about 2 to 10 and everyone had a blast
