For my son's 8th birthday , we dicided to make a Lego-themed party.  As invitations we created them out of the Duplo blocks(large legos).  Each invitation stood about 3 blocks high in a staggard type tower , keeping in mind the primary colors. On the lego tower , was a label that gave out all the information. It read : " COME HELP BUILD A BIRTHDAY PARTY WITH JAISEN @ DAVE AND BUSTERS FROM 11:00-2:00." To finish off the invitations , they were wrapped in clear cellophane bags with primary color curling ribbon.  As the guest arrive , we will have them guess how many legos are in the jar. The winner of that game will recieve that container w/legos , of course that will be wrapped pretty with clear plastic and curling ribbon.  The next game , the children will play " balance the lego on the spoon " relay style. We will play this game until we get a winner. The children who place 1st and 2nd will win a huge tub of legos that were purchased at walmart. The next game will be " building a lego tower".  This game will be timed ,the 2 fastest children to build a tower with the blocks provided will win a bucket of legos. ( the same as the first 2 winners.)The last game will be a " lego hunt ". We will have all the children go on a Lego hunt and fing legos , the child that finds the lego with the special sticker wins the last bucket of legos. As centerpieces for the party , we made large wooden legos that are connected to dowels and wooden clothespins. This was a card holder that each family recieved as a special token for coming to the party. Each card holder was spray painted with the lego colors red , yellow , and blue. Then they were wrapped with clear cellophane and fancy ribbon was added at the top.  Each family recieved a centerpiece , with a computer label on the back thanking them for coming.  For the birthday cake , I ordered a regular plain blue cake with yeloow and red writting.  I then added real legos to it.  We had blue plates , yellow napkins and red cups. As the goodie bags I found plastic bags with 500 pieces of legos in each.  Thay were on clearance at walmart .  This party was the best party my son ever had.
