We had a Lego party for our 7 year old lego fanatic! We started at 12 noon and had pizza for all of the kids.  Then, from 12:30 to 1:30 pm we hired a lego party to come our house (in L.A./Orange County area:  www.playparty.net). It was awesome.  A van pulled up to our house and was filled with lego for the kids to play with (soccer, basketball, pirate ships,buildings,racecars, etc.) The kids were thoroughly entertained.  After this, we played two games. The kids had 2 minutes to build a tower (in teams).  The team with the tallest tower won blow pops.  We also had a lego spoon race, also in teams, each child carried a lego piece in a spoon to the other team member across the yard.  We also put legos in a jar and had each child guess the amount. The top three most accurate guesses won prizes.  I made a lego cake, rectangular cake topped with 6 cupcakes to resemble a lego piece. The party lasted until 2:30 and was an absolute hit!
