Last year for my son's 8th Birthday, we had a Lego party. We sent out our own computer made invitations-Come Help Us "Build" a Lego Party for Patrick's 8th Birthday. We printed a banner that said, "Happy Birthday Patrick", and had Lego towers on the ends that looked like birthday cakes. Balloons in all the Lego colors were hung everywhere. We had a big Lego cake made out of a 9 x 13 sheet cake and 8 cupcakes on top all iced the same color(ours was green, Patrick's favorite color at the time). We decorated the table with a white table cloth, green plates, red napkins, and blue cups(all the Lego colors). I found Lego-like Wonka brand candy blocks that we used as confetti for the table. Place card holders for the kids names were made with real Lego blocks. For games, we played the Lego Board Game, Guess How Many Legos are in the Jar, Drop the Lego in the bottle(like drop the clothespin in the bottle or jar), and we timed the kids to see who could build the highest Lego tower in 5 minutes. My husband found a picture on the Lego website of a Lego castle. He "cut" out the Lego ghost in the tower of the castle, and printed the picture on four 8.5 x 11 sheets to make a big poster. We then printed out the individual ghosts for each child with their names on them, and laminated each and the poster. The kids played "Pin the Ghost in the Tower". They all had a blast! For goodies, we put a small boxed Lego toy and a small bag of the Wonka "Lego" Bloks in a paper bag decorated with printed Legos from the computer. This party was a lot of fun to plan.
