For my daughter's 3rd birthday we had a Lilo and Stitch inspired Hawaiian beach party. We made homemade invitations, cleverly saying "hope to sea you there". My daughter wore a dress
we made to look just like the character Lilo and she carried a plush stitch around. As guests were arriving I gave each child a colorful sack , beach themed stickers, and crayons so they
could decorate a bag they would later use in the seashell hunt. We filled a 3dollar inflatable pool with play sand and buried shells in it which we found at the dollar store. The kids really
loved this. We had instucted parents to bring a swimsuit since we had a "tide pool" to play in- another inflatable pool filled with water. For favors we filled sand pails with
coloring sheets printed from our computer, stickers, flower leis, candy necklaces, and plush palm trees we also picked up at the dollar store. For lunch I made ham with brown sugar and
pineapple and hawaiian rolls, blue jell-o mold with crushed pineapple in it for the look of water, beach blanket sugar cookies, and for our cake I purchased a ready made frozen cake at the
supermarket bakery, I scraped off all the icing and frosted it blue, the covered half with graham cracker crumbs for sand, we put gummy sharks in the water and decoated with Lilo and Stitch
and beach themed toys found at the dollar store. We mixed powdered blue jell-o with the vanilla ice cream the day before for a ripply water effect. For decorations we had storebought shimmery
blue streamers(water) and green crepe paper(seaweed)and balloons, but we also cut out surfboards and palm trees from large cardboard boxes and painted them. My daughter loved this party, but
she really loved helping prepare for it. All the guests had a great time!!!!
