My Party was a luau!We had it at a local clubhouse, which was big and efficiant. As each guest entered (about 30 guests) we gave them a hawaiin lei. then,we gave them nametags we made on the computer. they said ALOHA MY NAME IS ____ and we filled in the blank with their hawaiin name(www.alohafriends.com)and we handed them a doorprize raffle ticket. the adults got blue tickets and the kids got red tickets.Decorations: we covered all the tables with hibiscus printed table cloths. there was also a "tiki bar" where my brother stood making virgin strawberry daquries. We had plastic hibiscus cups waiting to be filled with the strawberry daquries, with hibiscus print umbrellas for them.We had light up palm trees and had streamers and balloons everywhere! for food, we ordered regular pizza becuase we werent sure how many people would like hawaiin pizza.My cake was a sheet cake that my mom made. half of it was the beach with brown sugar and yellow icing. the other half was blue the ocean and we sprinkled fish and dolphin sprinkles on it. on the beach half, we took ice cream cones and green fruit gummies to make palm trees, and we took striped gum to make a towel. then, we got a hula girl candle and put it by the towel.GAMES well, we had a raffle with the tickets they got, and gave them baskets. for adults:aromatherapy stuff. kids: make up and nail supplies. Also, we had a hula instructor come to us and teach us how to hula! Of course we played limbo with hawaiin music playing in the background that we rented from the local library. For another game, we bought 3 different colored nailpolish, and we played the music while passing them around. When the music stopped, whoever was holding the nailpolish painted one nail. the first person to have all their nails painted, won!We also had a photo opportunity ready. we took blue shower curtains and hung one on the wall and put one on the floor. then, we put our ironing board flat on the floor, with the legs hidden in holes in the shower curtain. Then, we decorated the top of the ironing board with construction paper.Surfs up! it looked like we were surfing! Then, we opened presents and played a game with the cards where everytime i said the words happy and birthday while reading the card outloud, the girls of my party passed around one wrapped prize. after i read all the cards, the person left holding the prize, got to keep it. By then, we were all exhausted, and the party was over. For thank yous, i took the pictures we took and put it on a digital disk! I had the best time, and so did everyone else! I hope i have a party this good next year!
