Hawaiian Hula Party. For my 12th birthday party I had a hard time deciding what kind of party to do. After looking at some party stores and looking on this site I decided to a Hawaiian Hula Party! INVITIONS: I traced a palm tree on a piece of tracing paper and taped it on a piece of green construction paper and cut it out. I then glued it on a blue piece of consruction paper. I wrote the party info on piece of white paper and cut it out and put it on the blue paper. I wrote the password (ALOHA) on one side and told them to say it at the door.I also told them to wear the favorite summmer outfit. DECORATIONS:My mom and I went to Party City and bought the table wear and table cloth. We were on a limted budget so I had to make most of the decorations. I went to the carpet store and ask for those cardboard tubes, then I cut out "leaves" out of green poster board and taped on to the cardboard tube. It turned out great!! I Wrote ALOHA on a piece of cardboard and put on the basement door.(that's were the party was) I also made streamers. Take a piece of string and push tissue paper on the string. Those looked perfect! I took some sand out of my brother's sand box and sprekled it on the table. We got Hawaiian secented cadles and lit those up. WHEN YOUR GUEST ARRIVE:I gave my guest(who were all girls) a lei, ankel braclet, and flowers for their hair. As I gave them a lei I said "This lei is a symbol of friendship, when you wear this lei it means you are friends with everybody." They also got a nametag with their hawaiian name on it.(alohafriends.com)Before they came in they had to say the password(ALOHA) CRAFT: We made grass skirts. We took a piece of crepe paper and measured it around their waist then we stapled the other pieces of crepe paperto the "waistband." GAMES: We played Limbo(don't forget the hawaiian music!),hot coconut, had a hula hoop contest,(one girl went on for 17 min!)we had a foot race:hop on one foot to the finsh line, fasest girl wins, played musical beach towls: it's played just like musical chairs, and how well do you know me?:type up questions like What is my favorite food? the girl that answers the most questions right wins! FOOD: we had Hawaiian pizza, and punch with the little umbrellas and a crazy straw.MOVIES: we watched Lilo and Sitch and Sitch! The Movie. My mom made fruit smoothes. In the moring we made pancakes and put fruit on the top. GOODY BAGS: sunglasses, another crazy sraw,Hawaiian pencil, and a thank-you card! This party was THE BEST EVER!! This site is the best!!
