In an old house in Arlington That was surrounded by trees Lived one little girl Who was about to turn 3. At the party we played music from Madeline CDs and had some Madeline-themed party supplies and a red, yellow and blue color scheme. I had made a large pin-the-tail on Genevieve out of poster board. And, we had an Old House in Paris bean bag toss. For this I used a piece of plywood, painted it like the old house and cut out several windows. It had hinged support on the back of it and homemade bean bags. The cake was of course, a yellow hat. For this, I made two round cakes, placed them on top of each other and frosted them with yellow icing. I placed them on a round yellow platter and tied a black ribbon around it with a bow. In the goody bags, there were Madeline stickers and some art supplies. Also inside was an Eiffel Tower-shaped cookie - I used an Eiffel Tower cookie cutter to make sugar cookies. They had either blue or pink crystals and were wrapped in saran wrap and tied with a bow. And, each bag had a yellow hat magnet. For these, I found tiny straw hats at a craft store, painted them yellow, glued a paper-backing and magnet to them and tied them with a black ribbon. The party was a huge success and I received so many compliments on the theme and its execution. And, most importantly, my daughter loved it and still talks about it.
