We decided to have a "Paris" party for my two year old daughter. Invitations were postcards I made on the computer; I took images of Paris and my daughter's pictures and made a collage on the front.  The back of the card was "written" from her explaining she was having too much fun to make it back to the USA--so please join her in Paris.  The main activities for the kids involved art and painting.  I got a roll of newspaper paper for a cheap price and each of the kids got their own paint set from the dollar store. We attached the paper to our fence and each child became a Picasso. They also did construction paper collages. Goodie bags included the paint set, crayons, glue, etc. to create art projects. Each year I make a small sign to hang on a flag holder that says, for example, "McCall's 2nd Birthday" with a theme from her birthday (this year a paint palette) and all the kids pose in front of it.  This makes looking through old pictures easy to recognize. The food was French fries, sandwiches on French bread, croissants, fondue, pastries, and crepes.  The cake was made from a sheet cake.  I cut it to look like a painter's palette.  Then I covered it in vanilla icing and created "paint circles" out of colored icing gel.  I stuck an actual painter's brush in the thumb hole.  The table had art, a suitcase, a loaf of french bread, empty wine bottle, etc. on it for decoration.  Moms even arrived dressed like "Ladies in Paris". We had a ball and it was something unusual for the guests.
