Magic Party -5 year old My son turned 5 this year and wanted a fun magic themed party. His invitations I made by hand out of card stock - they read: Abracadabra Lickety Split a little
magic and a lot of tricks,we need you to make Josh's 5th birthday a sure fire hit! They of course had a rabbit coming out of a top hat with silver /gold stars around it- I made the top hat
look like it was popping of the page (3D like). We hired a magician, who had them have hula hoop contest while he set up-they loved that! The decorations consisted of a curtain
for the magician to come out of - silver with black stars, lots of star shaped blue mylar balloons - I even found latex balloons with cards on them they worked great with theme. We bought the
hocus pocus birthday set from Birthday in a Box, and put up lots of blue and black streamers. And we found large shiny blue and silver stars that we hung up all over. I also found playing
cards that were like posters and hung them up, and even added a few from an old deck - they were cute scattered around the table where the food was.The cake was a GIANT black top hat shaped
cake with cake with white hands holding a wand on the top-
which read have a magical 5th birthday Josh - . I gave all of the children who attended top hats, wands, glow in the dark straws, and their own bottle of disappearing ink, and a pack of mini playing cards and of course candy. The kids played outside - we also rented a jumping thing for the kids to jump in and the magician made balloon animals, also a lot of fun. For food we had the basics hotdogs for the kids , and I placed the chips and other food that I could in new black plastic top hats. I also made "magic Wands" -pretzel rods dipped in chocolate and covered with blue M&M's. The party was a lot of fun to plan - we can't wait until next year!
