For my daughters 12th Birthday, she had a Beautiful Babes party. We made out own invitations listing the various make up treats that would be on offer at the party and asking guests to tick
which ones they would like. We then left a spcae for a guardian to sign this as permission as I am aware some parents do not want their children wearing make up. After much, much
shopping, on the day of the party we spread every piece of make up, nail polish etc we could find on the kitchen table ready for make overs. On a separate small table we spread out a
selection of craft items that were also make up/ jewellery based such as scoobies, wooden beads to thread etc. We also had temporary tattoes that the girls could choose while they were
waiting to have their make over done.
We took before and after photos of the girls on a digital camera and they loved comparing themselves after their makeovers. the makeoveras themselves were nothing drastic in themselves, just some sparkly eyeshadow, glitter and lipstick, a French plait or twist with a jewelled hair decoration and then the temporary tattoo.I didnt want to go too wild bearing in mind their age. Obviously for older girls you may want to do more?! While some girls were being made over I had kareoke dvds set up in the living room and the disco ball going which was in full swing. When all the girls were done we had a game of pass the parcel with a massive make up prize as the main goody. The other girls were then able to choose any item they liked from the makeover table to take home in their goody bag. In between pass the parecl rounds the girls had to do simple forfeits like impressions and song singing. We then had a fashion show while blowing my daughters bubble machine onto the girls. We asked each girl to introduce another as she walked in and explain what she had had done that day. I found a wonderful groovy chick cake that had sections that you could cut that had labels for each type of friend such as 'shy girl', 'sporty chick' etc and the girls had great fun deciding which part was best suited to each girl. We then ordered in pizza takeaway. For party bags I found some paper bags that were in the shape of handbags which were really striking and were only 2 for £1 in the poundstore. I filled them with their make up items, digital photos, cake and a small pocket mirror.
