For most teens (well all my friends anyway) getting ready for a big night out is the best bit, and having your hair and make-up done is always great fun!   For my 13th birthday I had a big-night-out party. My mum hired a make-up artist for about 75$ from a local company to come to our house.  She brought supplies with her for me and 10 friends, and gave me a make-over, while she paired up my friends and showed them how to give each other makeovers. this took about an hour, and when she left she gave us all a box of miniature products, which made great party favors.    For a more cost effective party, get an older sister, relative or family friend who is good at make-up to help do the same thing, and buy dime-store make-up as party favors. Next we all got dressed in our smartest clothes, and we did our hair in very fancy and wild styles, with some help from my mum and her friend . this was so much fun in itself that we would have been happy staying home and ordering a pizza, but instead we went out to an Italian restaurant, and showed off our great new looks.  when we got home we watched a couple of girlie films, and made ice-cream-sundaes, then all my friends stayed the night.  I took loads of photos, which I made copies of for each guest.  the whole night was great fun, and all my friends still tell me how great it was a year later.
