Beauty Salon Party
On my daughters 7th birthday, I decided to incorporate the things she loved best -dressing up, styling hair, painting nails, being with friends and taking lots of photos. I printed invitations of my computer and asked them to respond quickly and dress their best for a day of pampering at the beauty salon. Prior to giving out the invitations I called around to various salons for the best price on hair styling, a light touch of make up and nail painting. Make sure they are willing to have at least 2 stylist working with your group and ask for the hours of operations that are slower than others so you're not there too long. We were quoted $5 a child and I locked it down with manager of the establishment. The girls showed up beaming and loved every moment of pampering. I took many pictures of each child in every station and finally a group photo with stylist and all. Other clients thought the girls were in a beauty pageant. After all the salon fun, we escorted the girls to a near by pizza parlor to strut their stuff, eat pizza, cake and ice cream, open presents. I took the film to a 1/2 hour photo shop next door and slipped photos in each goodie bag to help remember their day of glamour. The goodie bags also had rings, bracelets, lip glosses, etc. When the parents picked up their kids, they were excited to see how wonderful the kids looked and felt. And for my daughter she still likes to linger in those photos for the longest time.
