GLAMOUR PARTY!! For my daughters 10th birthday we had a Glamour Party at our house. Invitations: We made these ourselves with card stock, fur trim, ribbon, silver paint pen, and fairy
dust (available at Libby Lu).
We created the invitations to look like a purse. The fur trim lined the top and a handle was made with the ribbon. The front had Come to a Glamour Party in silver paint pen and the entire thing was sprinkled with fairy dust before placing in the envelope. Entertainment: When the girls arrived I took photos of them as "before" shots. Then they went through "stations" for facials, make-up, hair styling, and nails. Facials: I bought the peel masks and we did each one of their faces and gave them 2 slices of cucumbers for their eyes. The all laid down on the mats to relax. The photos of this were just great! Once they were done with that, one by one, they came to the make-up station for full make-up. Then there hair was curled and styled. Next their nails were done and then they were ready for their "after" photos. We put up a black sheet and took glamour shots (head and shoulders only)with pink boas and tiaras. They turned out really well! Goody Bags: We first had them make their own "glamour bag". We bought pink fabric zipper bags at Michaels. The glued on fur trim, rhinestones and wrote their name in silver paint. We then gave them glamour items to put in their bags, like nail polish, "kid-friendly" make-up, and jewelry. We have a Claire's outlet in our town and can get jewelry, tiara's, etc really cheap. After the party we sent thank you cards with a before and after photo collage for each of the kids. This was a great keepsake for them and the photos were so good, that I actually had some parents request the photo on file so they could enlarge them to frame. All the kids had a great time and so did I. I would suggest finding other friends to assist with the various stations to keep everything moving faster.
