For my 12th birthday, I want to have a fashion/shopping party!
My party starts with Invitations: Use black construction paper, then write you adress, r.s.v.p, etc. in silver or light purple gel pen. then, mail your invitations, I reccomend 6-8 people. Decorations: I had silver and light purple streamers everywhere, and silver and purple balloons. I also put up pictures of the latest fashions from magazines. Activities: When the guests arrive I let them get into groups of two. Then they each got to look through magazines, (teen mags, fashion, tabloid trash, etc.) We put each picture they chose into an envelope. Party Snacks: After the mag pics, we had pizza, and chips. To craft up your pizza, have your guests cover it with toppings: peppers, pepperoni, parmesan. and remember CHIPS!! Next, take all the girls to the largest mall in your area, and make sure they have permission to wonder around in groups of two without their parents. give out the favors at the mall. Favors: I gave each girl a silvery tote bag (craft store) and in each bag the girls got a throwaway camera, a blank video tape (for a video recorder), gel pens, fake glasses (optional), clipboard, tablet, and little lip glosses and makeup. Activities: Part 1: Then the girls split up into their groups, and they each have a video camera (borrow these from close friends and family) the girls have to go around the mall and try to recreate their outfit from the magazine with $30.00-$50.00. I reccomend sale racks and discount stores. On their way, the girls must take turns and interview four people about what they are wearing today. Each girl will get to be the interviewer, and the filmer once. That is what the glasses, clipboard, tablet, pens, and video camera is for. Part 2: While they are buying their outfits, they must take a picture of each piece, and then the whole outfit together. They must take turns modelling the clothes. Have a meeting time and place for the girls, and keep in cell phone contact with them. We stopped at a bench area in the mall, and then we had our... Cake: I took a picture of the birthday girl all glammed up and had it copied onto the cake. It was a hit. we then wondered around and the girls spent some of the money they brought with them. the girls can split the clothes they found, make sure there are no squabbles!!! Games: When you get back to your house for a sleepover, play board games, and do fun sleepover stuff. Costumes: pajamas!!!! Party Snacks: Later that night we watched a slideshow I whipped together from all of their pictures. Everyone got a CD of the slideshow, and a CD with their interview tapes. I made choc. covered strawberries, froz. candy bars, and popcorn for later. I hope you do my party!!
