My son has been a big Mickey Mouse fan so we decided to do a Mickey Mouse birthday party at a nearby park.
Invitations read: Mickey wants you to come celebrate and have a day that's really great! Join us for _____________ 3rd Birthday. Day, Time, Location. (Font was the Disneyland writing and invitations were found on ebay 25 for $20) Paper used: Red cardstock with yellow overtop...traditional Mickey Mouse colors! We used butcher paper to cover the tables and each table had a balloon bouqet on it. The weights were various Disney stuffed animals. On each table were little buckets from the dollar store that were used as mini icechests full of capri suns for the kids. Food: pizza, green salad, and fruit salad Cake: ordered one from Costco Games: none since we were at the park and most kids were under the age of 3 I did download some coloring book pages off Disney.com. Then, I photocopied them and bound them (very quick and easy) and had them available for kids to color. Since his b-day is right after school started I was able to pick up crayons for a very reasonable price. Party favors: I purchased a Mickey Mouse cookie cutter online and used them to make cutout cookies and rice crispy treats. The cookies were bagged and the rice crispy treats were placed on a stick then cello-wrapped. They looked very cute! Loot bags were filled with misc. items from the dollar store. My son had a terrific time as did the guests. We were given many compliments about the detail and I have to say the rice crispy treats were a total hit!
