For my son's 4th birthday, he wanted a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme.
I purchased the Mickey plates, cups, balloons, tablecloth, etc online. When the party started all the children were ushered into the family room to watch an episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse while we waited on additional guests. After the show was over, we all walked into the livingroom where a large tent was hidden" behind a blanket. We all shouted the magic words Mooska Mickey Mouse!" to make the "clubhouse" appear. She sheet was removed and I had the theme song from the show playing on CD while we entered the clubhouse (tent). The kids all had fun dancing around to the song. Then I welcomed everyone to the clubhouse and told them I needed help making a birthday party for my son. They eagerly agreed to help me. Then we played the toodles theme song while my niece brought in our home-made toodles. We took a baby push toy that had a pocket big enough to hold a few small items and covered it with a cardboard lid with toodles drawn on it. Our mousektools inside toodles were cake sprinkles forks and a mystery mousketool (a piece of construction paper with a question mark drawn on it). Then I asked the children what we needed for a party. Someone suggested cake so we went to the kitchen to find cake. I had some cupcakes with plain icing on them and suggested that they looked a little boring for party cakes. Then we called for toodles to come and give us some sprinkles. The kids had fun decorating their own cupcakes. Next we decided that the kitchen needed to look more festive. So we called on toodles again and decided to try the mystery mousketool. It was all of the Mickey-themed partyware I had purchased. Then the children "helped" to decorate and set the table. Next we decided that we needed some presents. I lead the children to the table where they had left their presents but they soon discovered that the presents had been moved and a note was left in it's place. The note was from Pete and said that he was jealous of the presents and had hidden them. If the children could find a yellow shape with 4 corners then they would find the presents. Otherwise Pete was going to keep the presents for himself. We walked around the party area and found several shapes taped to various doors until we found the yellow square taped to the clubhouse. Then we went inside and found all the presents. My son opened his presents inside the tent which made cleanup easier than usual since the mess was contained. Then we proceeded to the table where I presented a homemade Mickey cake with 4 candles for my son to blow out. We sang happy birthday he blew out the candles then the kids ate their cupcakes and the adults ate the Mickey cake. Afterward everyone took their balloons into the clubhouse to play until it was time to leave. The kids had a great time and I had minimal set-up ahead of time. This was probably the most successful and fun kid's party I've ever hosted. "
