My daughters 3rd Birthday party was Minnie Mouse themed. For the invitations, I cut out a black MiCky Mouse head, attached a read polka dotted bow on top and folded it in half so that it
looked like the traditional Mickey/Minnie Mouse ear hat.
Then on the inside I glued a printed peice of paper with all of the party specifics in it. I found minnie mouse plates at a party website, but also used red and white plates, napkins, tableclothes, balloons, etc. for decorations. I made minnie ears with headbands and card stock paper for the kids to wear. The party girl wore Minnie Ears with a red and white polka doted dress. Before the party I took a pticture of her in her party dress posing with a large Minnie Mouse stuffed toy and then took it to a local bakery so that i could have the picture transferred onto sugar paper to use on the cake. I then put the picture of her and minnie on a sheet cake that I made, then outlined in red icing. I also made chocolate cupcakes, and added red and white polka dotted ribbon bows. I then then used chocolate cookies as ears on top of the cupcake and placed the red bows in front of the cookies for a bow (so that it would look like minnies head). As a time saver-which i loved and will do from now on at every party- I scooped one scoop of vanilla/chocloate ice cream into a red cupcake liner. I then placed 2 mini oreos on the top for ears and placed them on a tray back in the freezer. Then when it was time to cut the cake, i didnt have to stand there and scoop messy ice cream, i just placed the liner right on the cake plates. As goody bags, I bought a package of red lunch bags, drew a minnie head silloutte and wrote the childs name on the inside of the head. At out local dollar store, I purhased Minnie and Mickey Photo Albums for the kids to place the pictures of the party in and to remember it by. It really was a fun party, and one that was well enough organized for me to enjoy too.
