We had a fairytale themed birthday party for my daughter Keeley which turned 4 February 25th. We had her party at our church, every room in the childrens dept has a theme. We made a castle out of card board box that was at least 12 X 12 across, the castle had a draw bridge and we placed it in the forest room (drama room) which has a stage that we used to hide her birthday cake on.  I had set up different areas in each room, we had a friend and grandma do the face painting with fairytale themes, in another room we made magical wands out of glitter and wooden round sticks that I had spray painted gold prior to the party, they had stickers and ribbon that they used to decorate the wands as well.  The 2nd craft was hats they each made a princess or prince had that I had cut out prior to the party and they used the same stickers and glitter on the hats and I had crayons available as well. The crafts were the highlight of the party.  While the kids did the crafts the parents were able to eat finger foods and talk among each other. After we finished the crafts we had an interesting time with a  unicorn pinata. We then moved into the castle room and had her open her presents and then we drew down the bridge and sang Happy Birthday and had the cake which was made by a friend and was done up fairytale  and ice cream.  This party was one of the cheapest and best parties I have ever had most of the supplies were things I had around the house. All the children had a wonderful time and I have had one of the mothers ask us to do a Sponge Bob party which my husband made a Sponge Bob box out of appliance boxes and we went to the skating rink and the kids had a blast, and this weekend I am doing another little girls party at the church as a Rapunzel theme, which we are using my daughter's castle and adding a tower to it.
