Golden Birthday - For our daughter's 11th birthday we held a "Golden Birthday" party/sleepover. We wrote the invitations on black paper with gold milk pens and put glittering gold
stickers on them. We punched the cover and info. page and tied them together with gold ribbon. When her friends arrived that evening we grouped them in pairs and sent them off on a treasure
hunt which led through the house, outside and back in to a final hiding place where they each found a wrapped box with a gold (inexpensive)necklace inside. For supper we had golden fries,
chicken ,corn etc. Inside each piece of birthday cake was a gold ring. They were told to be careful. After gifts, we had them each glue junk (buttons, earrings, crayons, junk drawer stuff) on
cheap 5x7 frames. Then they
watched Golden Oldie movies. We took the frames outside and painted them gold. In the morning we had a golden hashbrown bake, waffles and oven-scrambled eggs. We placed their gold frames inside gold party bags along with gold coins, other candy, their necklaces, rings and a gold bracelet. We took a picture of them to put in their frames later. A lot of fun, "Golden" memories were made.
