Abby Cadabby Party

October 2008

Doshia in Dallas,TX USA

Well our baby girl loves to watch Sesame Street so i thought an Abby Cadabby party would be best since she loves her and its extra girly!!!!  INVATATIONS: I just went to party city and bought the AC" stock invites...I knew I would be making personal home-made touches in other places so I thought why not just buy the invites and make it easy.....So I decided to have this party at home on a sunday afternoon. FOOD: I made ham and turkey sandwiches and to make them look fancy I used a large flower cookie cutter to cut them into to shapes....it turned out really nice and it looked expensive...I also had several types of chips and fruit sticks.....for drinks I got the hawaiian punch can drinks simply because it was easy. I also made cupcakes and put them out on a plate in flower shapes..so I had a pink cupcake with six purple cupcakes surrounding it....for the adults we had pizza and hotdogs since most of them would be watching the football game....DECOR: So I had hot pink and purple crepe paper streamers on the celing and matching balloons...I also got "AC" table covers with solid cover plates and forks.  i also got some coloring pages from sesamestreet.com and printed them off for the kids to color.  i also had "ac" puzzles blow outs and cards....I got them from Party City and Dollar General....For centerpieces i used small plastic flower pots. i put some styrofoam in them with dowels i painted pink and purple with a colored pick of "ac" on them and a pic of my daughter dressed up as "AC".....I used purple pompoms to cover the bottom and wrapped the base in purple pink scrapbook paper......they turned out really nice!!!! GAMES: I had several little games ready for the kids to play like pin the wand on the fairy...a version of pin the tail....also a fairy hunt where i had several little "AC" pics i shrunk down at kinkos to have six per page laminated and cut down into the six little figures hidden within the backyard for the kids to find...but the kids went outside and played football and stayed there.....which was ok because the adults were so into the DALLAS COWBOYS game that was on it just made everything ok......For thank yous i used the same pic of my daughter dressed up as Abby Cadabby "AC" on card stock cut down and it said Thanks with her name and age...i also gave them homemade cookies. I wrapped them in pink and purple tissue paper and then put them into clear traet bags.....it turned out really nice....everyone loved all the homemade touches and i was able to get everything here for around $200 including food and drinks......I hope all this helps someone......GOOD LUCK"
