For my sons first birthday I didnt really have a theme because he was too young for TV and to really like any characters. I made the invitations myself. I'm a tad crafy that
way. The whole party was centered around the different colors of blue. DECORATIONS: We rented our community clubhouse which had a pool connected to it. On each
table I had a dump truck toy that I purchased from Target and filled the bed of the truck with nuts. These acted as my centerpieces. I had white, dark blue and light blue balloons
around the whole room as well as streamers. Upon walking in on the left hand side I had a popcorn machine so that the children could help themselves.
To the right of the entrance I set up a favor table with candy jars and metal scoopers.I filled each jar with a differnt kind of candy. I made a little 5x7 poster card that had the theme of the invitation and read "Fill your bag with candy thank you for the fun. I'm so happy you were here to celebrate me turning one!" I had plastic bags and ties you could buy at any party store. The kids LOVED this. They were able to make a candy bag before they left and this was definitely something that wouldnt go to waste. Towards the back of the room I had a "craft table." I had bought the foam 5x7" pieces and different accessories to stick on from Michaels. Cheerleading Motorcycles Letters...different fun kids stuff. I took each kids picture as soon as they entered the party. As the kids decorated their frame I downloaded their picture onto my laptop and printed them on photo paper. This literally did not take long at all. I cut out their pictures and handed them the photo to put on their new frame. I had a sample of the outcome so the kids knew what to do. We also hired a clown for about 2 hours to entertain the kids which they really enjoyed. FOOD: Hot dogs chili beans chips salsa salad and various drinks. I had everything ready to go in chafing dishes and little note cards specifying what each dish was. The party was a great success and very impressive. Both adults and kids had a great time."
