My daughter just LOVES M&M's, so we had that as a theme for her 2nd birthday. For the INVITATIONS, I made blue and red M&M's on the computer but making a large circle filling it
with color and adding the trademark M in a font that resembled their logo.
On the back I listed all the information for the party. DECORATIONS were very simple We had colored balloons everywhere with white M's on them I wrote with a white paint pen. I also had all kinds of M&M's in dishes all over the downstairs - plain peanut almond peanut butter. Most were gone by the end of the party. GAMES: My daughter had some older siblings and cousins at the party so some of these games are advanced for a 2 year old but she still had fun. when everyone arrived I had each child decorate a small container with foam stickers and M&M stickers. These were used to hold all the M&M's they would collect throughout the party. I made a large tic-tac-toe board on a piece of fabric to lay on the floor. I made red and blue M&M pillows to use as the markers. The kids loved this life size version of the game and played it over and over. Whoever won got 3 pennies to use in the gumball like machine filled with personalized M&M's. (Both were purchased from www.mymms.com so cute and you get to pick the colors and message on the candy). Whoever lost also got 1 penny so everyone won. The next game was a bean bag toss. I made 6 different colored bean bags to look like M&M's. They were made from felt and I put the "M" on them of course! I put different sized bowls on my stairs (bigger towards the bottom smaller toward the top) and put a different number on them (5101520). Each child got to throw all the bean bags. Their totals were added up and they got to put that many M&M's into their container. (A great way to practice counting for some and an adult helped those that needed help) Next was color and shape Bingo. I made several different Bingo cards one for each child. Since my daughter knows her colors and shapes she was able to play but you could do any kind of Bingo. We used M&M's as the markers for Bingo and the children got to keep their "markers." CAKE: For the cake I made a sheet cake and cut it into the shape of one of the M&M people. I also had cupcake frosted in the primary colors with the "M" on them. They were on a try surrounded by more M&M's. For FAVORS the children all got their M&M's in the container they decorated. All containers were filled before they left so they all had plenty of M&Ms. They also got a sheet of M&M stickers an M&M pencil and an M&M book. There are several different books available so the younger children got a color/pattern book and other got book that practice addition subtraction and other math skills. Everyone had a good time! I had a hard time planning this party without many ideas out there so I hope this helps someone!"
