Lizzie McGuire Party
For my daughter's 9th birthday party in May she wanted a "Lizzie McGuire" theme from the hit show on the Disney Channel. I bought bright cloth napkins from Target in orange, lime green, hot pink and bright blue along with standing ice cream bowls in the same colors. I laid the napkins overlapping them onto our largest kitchen island. I also bought large plastic bowls in the same colors at Wal-Mart for about 89 cents each and I placed an ice cream bowl for dips and such in a different color in front of each bowl. My daughter and I cut out orange, green, hot pink and bright blue foam hip flowers and glued different colored dots in the center and placed them all over the counter along with foam cut out L's (for Lizzie) and happy face confetti sprinkled about. We bought Lizzie plates, napkins and cups for the kids from Birthday Express.com and cordinating ones for the adults. I found some hip ceramic flower plates at a local outlet store and put candies in them. We served pizza and I was able to find a Lizzie McGuire cake at our local Albertson's and it was just adorable! We also had balloons and lots of streamers in the same colors. We had Lizzie and Hilary Duff posters on the walls and my sister (who is a very good artist) drew a colorful Lizzie on poster board and we played pin the cell phone on Lizzie. Then the girls went outside to hit the pinata which was a purse from Target. In the evening, the girls watched The Lizzie McQuire Movie and during the games we played a Hilary Duff CD. The colors were so fun and all the girls really loved the decorations and had tons of fun.
