This idea was actually not a birthday party.. .it was just one of those days, when the kids were driving me nuts, and I decided to do something different to get us all our of our rotten
mood. We had "Small Day Dinner". I found as many things in the house that I could that were either small already (cheerios, small crackers, etc.) or could be made small
(cheese cubes, toast cubes, sausage slices, apple pieces, etc.).
We ate on the floor, on a blanket, like a picnic. You should have seen my husband's face when he came home from work and I invited him to join us on the floor! I handed him a tiny little plate from our daughter's play tea set, and a little cup, and told him dinner was served! Our daughter proudly passed around tiny little containers with tiny food. It took us forever to eat enough to feel full, but we did laugh and have such a good time. The kids were so delighted that the grown ups were being so silly! Dessert? M & M's, of course!
